Meet Dalton Glasscock

Dalton Glasscock is a fourth-generation Wichitan whose involvement in public service began long before he held elected office.

Raised in a working-class family in west Wichita, Dalton grew up watching his mother run a small business and his father work in Wichita’s aviation industry. He became involved in local government as a student through the Wichita Mayor’s Youth Council and later served on the District Advisory Board, eventually chairing the District 4 board.

In 2020, Dalton won a special election and was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Sedgwick County Commission. In 2023, Wichita voters elected him to represent District 4 on the Wichita City Council. His colleagues unanimously selected him to serve as Vice Mayor in 2026.

Throughout his time in local government, Dalton has approached the job with a straightforward philosophy: understand the details, ask difficult questions, work with people who may not always agree, and remember that public money belongs to the public.

His professional experience has also taken him beyond City Hall. Dalton previously worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, specializing in military and veterans casework, and has taught American Politics at Wichita State University. He owns a consulting business and has served on numerous civic and community organizations.

Dalton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wichita State University and a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University.

Today, his work on the City Council remains focused on the responsibilities residents expect local government to get right: responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, public safety, strong neighborhoods, reliable basic services and accountability when government falls short.

Dalton lives in Wichita’s historic Delano neighborhood and remains active in the community that first gave him the opportunity to serve.
